INITIAL BUBBLES
I was strolling down by the Niagara Falls in Canada in the evening, enjoying the cold air when I decided to visit the Hershey’s store. Remembering their delicious chocolate treats, I decided to give the shop a tour and see what I could find, either snack or merchandise-wise! I’m a sucker for themed stores and the Hershey’s store is not one to disappoint.
As I entered, I jokingly told my partner “Wouldn’t it be funny if they had bath bombs HERE?!” We continued perusing the store and I suddenly came to a stop when, and you guessed it, I saw them. Nestled between other body care products and next to chocolate scented candles, were the bath bombs smelling of “cookies and cream” and “smores”. I looked at my partner and it was a done deal. We got ‘em. We did also find Jolly Rancher bath bombs, but since they smelled of fruits and since that’s a common scent in bath bombs, I decided to go with the more exotic chocolaty ones!
The first bath bomb tried was cream coloured with “brown sugar crystals” gleaming from the top.
THE BATH
I unwrapped the bath bomb, filled the bath in haste and then plucked it in.
This orb immediately sunk to the bottom and created a small number of bubbles. The bomb disintegrated slowly over several several minutes and resembled a piece of ocean coral or a very hole-filled pumice stone. In the end, it left a pile of “dust” at the bottom of the bath.
The bath hadn’t changed colour, nor did I smell anything in particular.
Thinking that simply putting one might not have been enough, I added a second and low and behold, same reaction from the bath bomb, same little pile and still no scent.
I mixed in the residue at the bottom of the bath with the rest of it and, once completely dissolved, still seeing no change, went into the bath.
My body didn’t smell or feel any different at the end and it quite frankly looked like I was in a tub of water without anything added to it.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Scent: The bath bomb smelled of sweet chocolate, but the bath itself had no scent at all.
Opacity: Water was as clear as before the two bombs were put into the bath.
Final colour: none
Verdict: Would not buy again, sadly! High initial expectations, quickly deflated. Stay tuned for the second bath bomb scent from this collection within the next couple of weeks! I’ll need to recover and reorder my expectations until then! Cool item, and would have been better had it been more exciting or at least given out colour or scent. If you’re in the Hershey’s store in Niagara Falls Canada on a visit next time, go for… another type of souvenir!
