INITIAL BUBBLES
When I went into the Lush store, back when it was possible, I spoke to the customer service representative so I could get help choosing my next bath bombs. I mentioned that I loved the Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb as it had a surprising twist to it. The kind lady immediately recommended the Golden Wonder Bath Bomb and told me I’d enjoy it!
FUN FACT ABOUT THE GOLDEN TOUCH
Even the slightest touch of this bath bomb made your fingers turn to gold. It reminded me of the Greek mythological story of King Midas’s touch!
King Midas of Phrygia was a king who loved gold very much. One day, he found Silenus, a satyr napping in his famous rose garden, took care of him and, brought him back to the god of wine, fertility and theatre, Dionysus, who offered to grant him one wish. The king wished that everything he would touch would turn to gold. Warned by Dionysus, the king still wanted his wish and it was so granted.
When back at his palace, the next day, everything he touched started turning to gold! He happily started touching the furniture and, asked for a feast to celebrate, but everything he touched turned to gold and he could not eat. He knew he would starve. In some sort of panic, he went into his garden to smell the roses, picked one. Instantly, it also turned to gold. His daughter came to hug him, in his despair, and she too turned into an inanimate block. He cried and asked for Dionysus to take back his wish and to save his daughter. Dionysus obliged and asked him to wash his hands in the Pactolus River. The gold washed away and the king’s daughter was saved.
THE GOLDEN WONDER BATH
When the Golden Wonder Bath Bomb was put in the water the fizzing sound was loud and immediate. The golden shimmer of the exterior turned into a bright gold, looking eerily like gold ore. Quickly the golden colour of the fizzing turned blue, as it revealed the “surprise” inside!
Admiring the blue streak that the bath bomb was emitting as it was travelling across the bath, I actually omitted an audible “OoOOOooO!” when I saw the embeds come out! First, they were magenta/blue/yellow and I actually wondered if a rainbow had come out of the bath bomb. Six beautiful fizzy orbs, embedded into the Golden Wonder Bath Bomb, separated: two yellow, two magenta, one blue and one orange.
Other interesting points, noted near the end of the fizzing were small golden floating stars. I finally had the floating stars I felt I was denied from the Shoot For The Stars Bomb Bomb, also by Lush.
Inside the bath, when I moved the water, I saw clouds of gold, puffs of gold within a sea of blue.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Scent: Supposedly citrusy, but I could not smell much from this bath bomb;
Opacity: Bottom of the bath was still visible;
Final colour: Once fully dissolved, turquoise with hints of gold.
Verdict: Loved it!! However, I guessed the final colour from the outside of the bath bomb before taking the bath as a small hint of blue was visible. In terms of bath bombs that pack a punch, this one definitely does!
