INITIAL BUBBLES
An internet search that yielded nothing at all leaves me to believe that the Cherry Almond Bath Bomb by Bath Scents is a Dollarama (a dollar-and-more store) branded bath bomb. Not one to shy away from bath bomb trials, I bought several other different bath bombs from this “brand” and here we are.
The first one, Dollarama’s “Bath Scents Cherry Almond” was put to the test. Size-wise, this 3$ bomb was pretty big at 255g.
However, quality-wise, at least before trying the bath bomb, I was not expecting much at all.
FUN FACT ABOUT DOLLARAMA
Did you all know that Dollarama and Rossy were founded by people of the same family? It was in fact a Lebanese immigrant, Salim Rassy, that founded what eventually became the Dollarama company in Montreal! The company is now present in every province in Canada and is traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
THE CHERRY ALMOND BATH
Time for the bath! So, let’s reiterate the fact that this is a dollar-and-more store bath bomb, a store not specialized in these products and not known for the highest quality of items. I was not expecting much.
As it got submerged, the Cherry Almond bath bomb by Bath Scents sunk to the bottom and bubbled. and bubbled. and bubbled. I was curious to see what the bath bomb looked like after a few moments of being in the water, so I pulled it out. It came out looking like a beautiful bright rose coral. If I could recreate something just like it and have it sit on my desk so I may stare at it endlessly, I definitely would.
This was a bath bomb with nothing particularly alluring to display in terms of a “show” when plunged into the water. It dispersed, stopped fizzing and, that was that. When I entered the tub, I noticed a little “powder” where the bath bomb used to lay. I swished my hand around and it quickly disappeared.
I had a vague feeling of being enveloped in a warm blanket while taking this bath… a champagne blanket, if you were to believe my wild imagination.
My kitten definitely enjoyed staring at the bath. I’m not quite sure what attracted him to it… scent or colour? Possibly both!
A noteworthy mention goes out to this bath bomb for cleanup. There was barely any residue to wipe away at the end of the bath!
FINAL THOUGHTS
Scent: cherry or roses;
Opacity: pretty translucent, bottom of the bath clearly visible;
Final colour: Mona Lisa pink;
Verdict: This 3$ bath bomb was surprising! A scent was clearly distinguishable and it coloured the bathwater nicely! Obviously, this was a no fanfare kind of bath bomb. Simply put, I was pleasantly surprised.
