INITIAL BUBBLES
I picked the Candy Cane Bubble Bath Bar up when I went into the Lush boutique for the first time in months. I hadn’t found the time to go on my own with my recent move, the global pandemic, and the increased work in my field during these difficult times. I was happy to discover when I entered the store that the Christmas collection had been brought out as this is definitely my favourite holiday! Something as iconic as a candy cane was hard to say no to.
FUN FACT ABOUT CANDY CANES
The first candy canes made were actually just straight white sugar-flavoured sticks. The colour and the iconic peppermint flavour was added to the recipe several years later. Candy canes were also used as Christmas tree decorations!
THE BATH
I put the bubble bar under running water and my bath experience started to emerge from the surface of this little treat.
The bathwater quickly turned a bright orange when the stream hit the candy cane’s combination of red and white stripes. The bubbles were abundant although maybe not as much as with my previous experience with a bubble bar (ie Love Potion).
The bath was fragrant and I was quite reminded of candy canes, albeit the fruity, not minty ones.
This was just the treat I needed after spending an entire day cooped up in my studio working on this very blog.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Scent: A comforting sweet lemon-like candy scent;
Opacity: Pretty opaque once you get through the mound of bubbles in the bath;
Final colour: Once the bubbles settle, the bath is a light tangerine colour;
Verdict: The first bath used up about half of the bubble bar. For the price and the possibility to reuse this bath paraphernalia, I’d definitely say this was worth it!
I will definitely update this post as I take more baths using this bubble bar to note how many uses I made of it.
